LITURGICAL MINISTERS
ALTAR SERVERS
Boys and girls as well as families and adults are encouraged to serve at the altar. They assist the presider during the celebration of the Eucharist, and there are also special opportunities to serve at weddings, funerals and other prayer services. Students who are in grade four or higher are trained for this ministry.
EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF THE EUCHARIST
Ministers are commissioned to assist in the distribution of the Eucharist at Liturgy.
GIFT BEARERS
Individuals or families who would like to bring the gifts of bread and wine to the altar during the Eucharistic liturgy are encouraged to sign-up for this ministry.
LECTORS
Through this ministry, God's living Word continues to be proclaimed to His people. Persons who can speak distinctly and address the Assembly in a convincing manner are eligible to be lectors.
MINISTERS OF HOSPITALITY/USHERS
Men and women ushers help build a strong sense of community. They are responsible for greeting people, assisting them in being seated, and taking up the stewardship collection, distributing parish bulletins, and handling emergencies that may occur during services. The ministry of ushers is vital to our parishes. The Church officially recognizes that this ministry is as important and necessary as Communion ministers, as Lectors, as Musicians, as Presiders. Ushers are the official hosts whenever this parish gathers to pray. Ushers greatly assist the Presider in extending the welcoming hand of Christ to ALL who come here.
GROUPS & ORGANIZATIONS
The Advisory/Planning and Finance Committees help the Pastor in the different decision-making matters necessary for the parish to run efficiently and smoothly.
The Altar Society is a group of ladies who cater dinners to different organizations, handle hospitality matters, and is responsible for altar cleaning, hosts, wine, missals, and more.
The parish choir sings at weekend masses as well as other special prayer services. New voices are always welcome!
Multiple fundraisers are held throughout the year at all three parishes. These include meals and events that are open to the community.
We offer to provide to the family of the deceased a meal following the funeral. Members of this ministry are called by a committee member and told when and what type of food is needed. If you would be willing to supply a requested dish or help serve a family meal following a funeral at the church, this ministry is for you.
Knights of Columbus is a Catholic family fraternal service organization. Knights are Catholic men, 18 years of age and older, who are committed to making their community a better place, while supporting their Church. Through their work in the service areas of faith, community, family, youth, and fellowship – they truly make a difference. Being a Knight is more than camaraderie; it is being involved with your community; it is supporting your local Catholic Church, while enhancing your own faith; it is about protecting and enhancing your family life.
Meets Saturday mornings at Holy Rosary parish.
This is our largest annual fundraiser. It is held in the spring of each year at the Benson Center in Clinton, MO. This event is open to the public and a limited number of tickets are available. Ticket purchase not only includes a prime rib dinner, but entertainment as well as a reverse raffle where various amounts of money can be won, including a grand prize winning of $10,000. A silent auction also takes place that evening.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry gathers together to knit, crochet and pray as we create prayer shawls for those in need in our community. For those who are ill, suffering from a loss to those celebrating a birth, sacrament or other joyous occasion, we help to provide a symbolic hug wrapping each recipient in the warmth of our community's love and support.
Requests for prayer shawls can be made by calling the Parish Office. Please allow 4 weeks for an individual request. There is NO cost for a prayer shawl! It is freely given in love; however, donations are always appreciated. Thank you for your continued support!!
